A feast of flora & fauna retreat is about re-connecting with the elements as a celebration and tribute to nature. Bordered to the north by the Montagne Noire, to the south by the Pyrenees and to the east by the Malepère and Corbières ranges and the Mediterranean, we are quite frankly spoilt by the rich abundance of both flora and fauna attracted to these different terrains which give both sanctuary and home to an extraordinarily large number of diverse species and make this area quite unique. The Razès is renowned for its orchids (best in May & June) and birds of prey (all-year round). You could spend days following local trails rich in orchids and wild flowers, or visiting sites highly populated by birds of prey and/or wading birds on the coast or meadow birds on your doorstep. Come for a 5-day walking option where you get to choose your routes (and thus distances) and pace. Longer stays are available at a discounted rate. WHAT TO EXPECT: • Daily guided easy to moderate walks ranging from 2 to 8 hours depending on your choices/distances. • Stunning countryside on every route. • Opportunities to: visit markets & medieval towns, swim in lakes & rivers, visit castles & caves, savour great wine-tasting moments & gastro restaurants. • Welcome aperitif. INCLUDED IN THE PRICE: • Airport/train station transfers from: Carcassonne, Bram, Foix or Castelnaudary (supplement for elsewhere). • All transportation to and from all walks in the region (if not starting from the Razès Gîtes). • Accommodation @ the Razès Gîtes (fully equipped apartments). • Cost of entry into all Cathare castles where chosen. • Professional guide on all walks.
